On August 28, 2024, the HKU Master of Family Wealth Management programme held our first ever student Orientation at May Hall, University of Hong Kong, welcoming our first intake class to this interdisciplinary programme.
We were honoured to hear from our keynote speaker Mr. Jason Fong, the Global Head of FamilyOfficeHK, who shared with our students the development of the family wealth management industry in Hong Kong and the government’s key policy initiatives. The Director of HKIHSS Prof. Zhiwu Chen gave an insightful speech about the latest work by IHSS (Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences), the connection with the programme, and the expectations of students.
Moreover, our Programme Director Ms. Bonnie Leung and our Senior Student Advisor Ms. Jenny Hsieh also provided students with a wealth of information about our programme and the various supports that HKU offers to ensure their success in studying in Hong Kong.
Finally, we want to express our gratitude to our guest speakers and HKU alumni Mr. Jeremy Chen, Ms. Vicky Yuen and Miss. Jean Yao for their spectacular sharing of their experience as an HKU student and for many immensely helpful tips with our students.
